A Prayer for the Burdened

Every family in our community is carrying some form of burden. It may be for your children, a loved one, or even yourself. We are praying with you and standing with you in hope.

A PRAYER FOR THE BURDENED

Lord, we come to you aware of the heaviness that many are walking under. Some may have had their present situation unexpectedly thrust upon them, while others have been walking with daily difficulties for a long season. Regardless of the length of time, overwhelming circumstances can often leave us feeling like we are under a weight.

In moments of despair, we ask you to bring your hope. Carry us through the next step, the next hour, the next moment. Sustain us with your strength and with your grace. May we feel your arms around us and the comfort of your peace.

Uphold us with your strength, might, and power. Guard us from extra worry or frantic thoughts, and wash your promises and your goodness over us. Remind us of your faithfulness and the ways you have cared for us in the past.

Lead and guide us as we face decisions for our children. Give us clarity and wisdom to know which path to take. We know you love our children more than we can comprehend, so we release their burdens for you to carry. In the strong name of Jesus, Amen.

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
